Amber Dune Receives Award from Ministry of Tourism

April 5, 2011 (Cabarete, Dominican Republic) – Amber Dune Resort + Spa, www.amber-dune.com, located on the Dominican Republic’s North Shore, today announced that the Ministry of Tourism presented it with an award of recognition, for its compliance with national protocol and sustainability requirements.

The award was presented by Francisco Javier Garcia, the Minister of Tourism and Maribel Villalona, the Director of Planning for the Ministry. Villalona is responsible for the government’s aggressive initiative to redevelop the North Shore of the country. In addition to this honor, the Ministry categorized it as a tourism project that is of great significance to the Northern region and to the Cabarete area in particular. The event was held on Wednesday, March 16th, at the Ministry's new headquarters.

Cabarete is vital to the success of the initiative due to its ability to attract both tourists and real estate investors alike. Its world-class kite boarding, windsurfing, mountain biking, hiking, canyoning, and white water rafting are just a few steps away.
